Sindh Government Transfers SSP Hyderabad, Resolving Lawyers’ Protest

Hyderabad:The Sindh government has transferred SSP Hyderabad Dr. Farukh Ali Lanjhar, effectively ending the ongoing dispute with lawyers. Following his transfer, the lawyers’ community ended their judicial boycott.
In celebration of the transfer, lawyers at the Hyderabad District Bar congratulated each other, celebrated, and raised slogans. District Bar President Ashar Maajid stated that after the lawyers’ persistent efforts, the transfer of SSP Dr. Farukh Lanjhar had been officially announced.
Ashar Maajid emphasized that the issue was not personal, but rather about the dignity and respect of the legal community. He added that thousands of lawyers would march to the Chief Minister’s House to peacefully protest against the 26th Constitutional Amendment and the canal being constructed over the Indus River.
**Background of the SSP Controversy:**
The issue began last month when the Bhitai Nagar police in Hyderabad registered a case against Advocate Ali Raza, accusing him of using a fake number plate. The lawyers’ community responded by staging a sit-in at the SSP office in Hyderabad. They demanded the dismissal of the SHO of Bhitai Nagar Police Station and SSP Dr. Farukh Ali Lanjhar, as well as the cancellation of the case.
