Islamabad: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has alleged that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz are leading an anti-judiciary campaign.
Speaking to media in Islamabad, Fawad Chaudhry stated that disrespect towards court decisions has become commonplace, with obstacles being placed in everything. He claimed to have heard that Shahbaz Sharif is planning to speak against the conduct of the judiciary in the National Assembly today, which he asserted would amount to a violation of the constitution by the Prime Minister.
He further remarked that Shahbaz Sharif could become ineligible for mocking judiciary decisions, while leaders of the PML-N, including MNAs and MPAs, are also mocking the judiciary. He accused the PML-N of attacking the judiciary, stating that Pakistan is currently facing uncertain circumstances.
Fawad Chaudhry also added that Pakistan is in crisis politically and economically, and now a judicial crisis is being created as well. He concluded that Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are leading an anti-judiciary campaign.
