Severe Rainfall and Snowfall Expected Across Pakistan on March 2nd and 3rd, with Cold Weather Likely During Ramadan

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, severe rainfall and snowfall are expected in various parts of the country on March 2nd and 3rd. The majority of the country will experience dry weather on Saturday, with cold conditions likely in the upper regions.
The Meteorological Department also mentioned that partial cloud cover is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, along with light rain and snowfall in some areas, accompanied by thunderstorms.
As the arrival of Ramadan draws closer, rainfall and snowfall in hilly areas have been observed, suggesting that the month of Ramadan is likely to remain cold throughout the country, with further rainfall expected.
In an interview with V News, Director-General of the Meteorological Department, Meher Sahabzada Khan, shared that the month of Ramadan has started with substantial rainfall. He noted that severe rainfall and snowfall are expected across Pakistan on March 2nd and 3rd, while dry weather with cold conditions will persist in most areas.
Meteorologists further stated that on the first day of Ramadan, Islamabad and its surroundings will experience dry weather during the day, followed by partial cloud cover in the evening and night, with the possibility of thunderstorms and rain with strong winds.
However, after this rain, no further rainfall is anticipated, and the weather is expected to remain dry for the coming days. Therefore, it is expected that the first 15 days of Ramadan will see better weather conditions, while the last 15 days may remain extremely dry with no rain expected. If an unexpected weather system develops, some rain might occur, but the current forecast suggests dry conditions in the latter half of Ramadan.
The Meteorological Department also predicted light to moderate fog in some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and central and southern Punjab during the morning hours.
In Balochistan, most districts will experience cold weather, with partial cloud cover expected. In the daytime, areas such as Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibi, Khuzdar, and surrounding areas are expected to experience strong winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall, with snow on the mountains.
Similarly, most districts in Punjab will see cold weather with partial cloud cover. However, areas like Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, and surrounding areas can expect intermittent rainfall with thunderstorms during the day, with a possibility of hail in some places.
In the Galiyat region, including Murree, heavy rain and snowfall, accompanied by strong winds, are expected during the day. Additionally, light to moderate fog may occur in central and southern Punjab during the morning hours.
Meanwhile, in Sindh, dry weather is expected to prevail in most districts on Friday.
