Bollywood director and producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be starting his new film project ‘Heera Mandi’ reportedly from April, reports Pinkvilla. The film is based on old Lahore’s red-light area located at Heera Mandi.
The cast of anticipating film of Bhansali has reportedly included Madhuri Dixit Nene, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Nimrat Kaur, and Sayani Gupta. However, Sonakshi when talking to Pinkvilla earlier she said, “There are speculations but I’ll wait for Sanjay Sir and his team to make official announcements. I don’t want to be saying anything, or stepping out of line. But yes, there are speculations, and people can speculate all they want.”
This film is currently in pre-production and will be directed by Mitakshara Kumar who previously assisted in Bhansali’s films.
According to the news portal, “Heeramandi is Bhansali’s most ambitious project and he is going all out for it. A large set of Heeramandi has been created in Filmcity, exactly where Gangubai Kathiawadi’s set was earlier made. The construction is almost complete. Meanwhile, music is going to be an important part of the narrative and they have already finished work on it. Knowing SLB’s passion for music he has been personally involved in every composition.”
The film is being collaborated with the streaming site, Netflix which was announced in August 2021.
Bhansali’s newly released Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt has been successfully running across the India.
