Mumbai: Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about his first meeting with his wife and fellow actress Alia Bhatt, revealing a notable age difference between them. Kapoor shared that he met Bhatt when he was 20 years old and she was just 9, during a photo shoot related to a film project.
According to Kapoor, the film was being developed by renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was planning a project centered around child marriage, with Kapoor and Bhatt set to star together. Kapoor admitted that recounting this initial encounter feels quite strange due to their 11-year age gap.
Despite the age difference, Kapoor expressed his gratitude and affection for Bhatt, calling himself a lucky man for marrying someone who is also his best friend. He praised Bhatt for her admirable qualities as an actress, daughter, wife, and mother, and expressed deep respect for her.
The couple, who began dating and then tied the knot in April 2022, have been a popular and well-loved pair in Bollywood.
