Quetta Red Zone Locked Down Ahead of Baloch Solidarity Committee Protest, Causing Traffic Disruptions

Quetta:In anticipation of a possible protest by the Baloch Solidarity Committee (BSC), the administration has sealed off all access routes to Quetta’s Red Zone using containers. For the past five days, this lockdown has led to severe traffic disruptions, with vehicles stranded on various roads. The Quetta-Karachi highway and the Karachi-Gwadar M-8 Coastal Highway have been closed for six days, exacerbating transportation issues for local residents, transporters, and travelers.

The administration has not only sealed the Red Zone with containers but has also deployed a heavy police presence in the area. Additionally, a notification has been issued designating the hockey ground for protests and rallies. The ongoing closure of the Red Zone has significantly disrupted the city’s traffic system, creating widespread inconvenience for its residents.
