PTI Senior Leader Sheikh Waqas Akram Promises Peaceful Yet Grand Protest on February 8

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram has confirmed that the party’s planned protest on February 8 will be a peaceful but grand demonstration. Speaking on a private TV channel, he explained that on the one-year anniversary of the elections, a major rally would be held in Swabi, where PTI workers from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would participate. He added that people from other provinces would also take to the streets in their respective cities, emphasizing that protesting was their fundamental right.

Sheikh Waqas Akram further disagreed with the views of PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President, Junaid Akbar, who had previously suggested that there were once soft supporters within the party who are now adopting a harder stance. Akram argued that all PTI workers, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had become “tough” due to the hardships they had endured.

Additionally, he expressed his support for the Islamabad High Court judges who recently wrote a letter to the Chief Justice and the President of Pakistan regarding constitutional violations, calling it a legitimate step that needed attention to avoid further breaches of the constitution.
