PTI Lawyers’ Group and Political Group at Odds Over Internal Disputes

Islamabad, February 14, 2025 – A rift has emerged within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party as the lawyers’ group and the political faction come into direct conflict. According to PTI sources, the lawyers’ group has raised complaints against key party figures, including founding member Imran Khan, as well as senior leaders such as Sheer Afzal, Ali Amin Gandapur, Asad Qaiser, and Junaid Akbar.

The sources revealed that the lawyers’ group successfully pushed for Sheer Afzal Murot’s expulsion from the party. They also brought a complaint about Junaid Akbar during the PTI’s recent rally in Swabi. The sources claimed that the rally only attracted a turnout of three to four thousand people, and that Ali Amin Gandapur had failed to provide the necessary funds for the event.

In response, Junaid Akbar, PTI’s President for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, denied any conflict with Ali Amin Gandapur. He stated that no funds were requested from Gandapur and that there was no internal dispute. He added that he had publicly raised Gandapur’s hand during the rally as a sign of unity within the party.

Additionally, Akhundzada Hussain Yousafzai defended Asad Qaiser, stating that the allegations against him were baseless and that his efforts had been instrumental in advancing the opposition alliance.

The internal tensions within PTI highlight the ongoing struggles for power and influence within the party, as different factions clash over leadership and resources.
