PTI Distances Itself from Bushra Bibi’s Statement on Saudi Arabia

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has distanced itself from the statement made by Bushra Bibi regarding Saudi Arabia, clarifying that the party does not take responsibility for her remarks.
Barrister Saif Ali, the Information Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, stated that Bushra Bibi’s comments could be her personal viewpoint, and she will need to clarify whether these are her personal thoughts or have any other purpose behind them.
Clarification on Organizational Position:
Barrister Saif emphasized that Bushra Bibi does not hold any organizational position within PTI, and therefore, linking her statements to the party’s stance is inaccurate. He added that only the party chairman, secretary-general, or the information secretary represent PTI’s official position, and thus associating her comments with the party is baseless.
Bushra Bibi’s Controversial Statement:
In a recent video statement, Bushra Bibi claimed that after her visit to Medina, a campaign was launched against her. She alleged that following Imran Khan’s trip to Medina, external pressure was exerted on General Bajwa to stop the discussion on the implementation of Sharia law, which led to accusations being leveled against her.
Previous Controversial Remarks:
This is not the first time PTI leaders have made controversial remarks about Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, in April, Shireen Mazari accused Saudi Arabia of being involved in the regime change operation. PTI had quickly disassociated itself from these remarks as well.
PTI’s Clear Stance:
Barrister Saif reiterated that PTI’s stance on Saudi Arabia has always been clear, and the party values its historic relationship with the kingdom. He urged people to refrain from linking any individual leader’s personal views with the party’s official position.
PTI’s Separation from the Controversy:
PTI has now officially distanced itself from Bushra Bibi’s statement, declaring it a personal matter. Barrister Saif again emphasized that Bushra Bibi must clarify her remarks, as the party does not wish to be drawn into any baseless controversy.
