PTI Balochistan President Daood Shah Kakar Condemns Arrest of Maah Rang Baloch and Police Brutality

QUETTA:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan President Daood Shah Kakar has strongly condemned the arrest of Maah Rang Baloch and the police’s violent crackdown on peaceful protesters, including the shooting of demonstrators. In a statement issued to the media, Kakar said that while the people of Quetta were waiting for the bodies of their loved ones, they were instead confronted with state repression. He termed the arrest of Maah Rang Baloch and other activists as an attack on peaceful protests, which he stressed would fuel the true struggle for Balochistan’s freedom.

He condemned the police’s action against the peaceful demonstration by the Baloch Unity Committee, which was held on Saryab Road, carrying the mutilated bodies of missing persons. Kakar compared the recent police raid to the brutality seen in Islamabad on November 26, 2024, stating that the violence and oppression were reminiscent of the worst forms of tyranny and that such actions have no place in any civilized society.

The PTI leader also reiterated the party’s full support for Maah Rang Baloch’s leadership and struggle for the rights of the Baloch people. He emphasized that PTI Balochistan would continue to support the movement for Balochistan’s true freedom at every forum. Kakar demanded that the Balochistan government immediately release Maah Rang Baloch and other detained activists and hold the responsible authorities accountable for this violent crackdown.

Kakar’s statement further called on the Balochistan government to ensure justice by bringing the perpetrators of this attack to justice and allowing peaceful protests to continue without fear of government repression.
