PSL 10: Quetta Gladiators Thrash Peshawar Zalmi by 80 Runs in One-Sided Encounter

Rawalpindi: In the second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Quetta Gladiators outclassed Peshawar Zalmi with a dominant 80-run victory at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that backfired as Quetta’s batters unleashed a powerful performance. Quetta Gladiators posted a formidable total of 216 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs.
Skipper Saud Shakeel led from the front with a brilliant 59-run knock. He was well supported by Finn Allen, who scored 53, and Hasan Nawaz, who added 41. Rilee Rossouw remained unbeaten on 21 while Kusal Mendis contributed a quickfire 35*.
For Zalmi, Ali Raza, Alzarri Joseph, and Sufiyan Muqeem took one wicket each.
Chasing 217, Peshawar Zalmi struggled from the start and were bowled out for 136 in just 15.5 overs. Saim Ayub was the lone fighter with a half-century (50 runs), while Hussain Talat (35) and Mitchell Owen (31) showed brief resistance. Mohammad Haris managed only 13 runs, and no other batter could reach double digits.
Quetta’s bowlers were clinical, with spinner Abrar Ahmed taking 4 wickets. Usman Tariq and Mohammad Amir picked up 2 wickets each, while Kyle Jamieson claimed one.
This match followed the tournament opener, where defending champions Islamabad United defeated Lahore Qalandars by 8 wickets.
