Peace Agreement Reached Between Tribes in Kurram District Following Land Dispute
Islamabad:A peace agreement has been successfully reached between two tribes in Kurram District following a land dispute. According to Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mohsud, both parties have signed a two-month temporary ceasefire agreement.
The Deputy Commissioner also stated that a formal agreement for a permanent ceasefire will be established between the tribes in Kurram District.
Jirga member Haji Rehmat Hussain mentioned that a fine of 120 million rupees will be imposed on any party violating the agreement. He also assured that the Kurram-Peshawar highway will be secured for safe travel.
This development comes after a week of clashes that resulted in 50 fatalities and 226 injuries.
