Pakistani Leaders Condemn Jaffer Express Terrorist Attack, Praise Security Forces for Swift Action

Islamabad:President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Jaffer Express, while extending their appreciation to the security forces for their swift and effective action to rescue the passengers.

In a statement, President Zardari condemned the attack as inhumane and deplorable, stating that targeting innocent civilians and passengers goes against the values of the people of Balochistan. He emphasized that the Baloch nation rejects those who attack unarmed passengers, elders, and children. “No religion or society condones such heinous acts,” he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the cowardly attack, praising the bravery and professionalism of the security forces. He assured that the forces are actively confronting the terrorists, and despite the difficult terrain, their morale remains high. “The operation will be successful, and we will ensure that these cowardly terrorists are brought to justice,” he said. The Prime Minister further stressed that the terrorists are enemies of Balochistan’s progress and their actions during the holy month of Ramadan reveal that they have no connection to Islam, Pakistan, or Balochistan. He promised that the war against terrorism will continue until its complete eradication from the country.

Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, commended the security forces for rescuing over 100 passengers and neutralizing more than 16 terrorists. He expressed his gratitude to the forces for their timely intervention, which thwarted the terrorists’ plans. “The attack on innocent passengers is a barbaric act, and those responsible are enemies of the nation,” Naqvi added. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured passengers.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti called the attack a cowardly act of terrorism, vowing that the attackers would be brought to justice. He assured the public that the security forces are actively pursuing the terrorists, and no one will escape. “We will not rest until the enemies are defeated,” Bugti said.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz condemned the attack, stating that those who target innocent passengers are devoid of humanity. She offered prayers for the safety of all passengers aboard the train.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also expressed his condemnation, calling the kidnapping of innocent passengers a cowardly act. He expressed concern over the danger posed to their lives and reaffirmed his support for the security forces.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack, calling the killing of innocent people an act of extreme cruelty. He reassured that the nation will stand firm in the fight against terrorism.

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, condemned the attack, describing terrorists as the greatest threat to Pakistan. He expressed his concern over the targeting of innocent civilians and emphasized that the immediate emergency response by the Balochistan government will play a vital role in managing the situation.

The security forces’ ongoing operation is aimed at rescuing the hostages and eliminating the terrorists behind the attack.
