Karachi:Pakistani actress Ushna Shah has addressed her critics regarding her choice of attire and personal choices, asserting that her husband has no issues with her revealing outfits, but Pakistani audiences seem troubled by them. In a message posted on social media, Shah took a strong stance against what she perceives as hypocrisy among Pakistanis.
She criticized the double standards of Pakistani society, noting that while people enjoy and dance to item numbers by celebrities like Nargis Fakhri, they simultaneously criticize her for her clothing choices. Shah highlighted that she was raised in Canada, which has a different cultural environment compared to Pakistan, and she married a liberal-minded white man who shares her open-minded views.
Shah emphasized that her husband has never had a problem with her wearing short or bold outfits, whether at home or abroad. However, she expressed her frustration that such choices cause uproar among Pakistanis. She finds this hypocrisy surprising given the contrasting attitudes towards Western-style entertainment and her personal fashion choices.
She also mentioned that one of her biggest regrets was apologizing for wearing a red blouse at her wedding, an act she now feels was unnecessary. Shah concluded by stating that she will live her life on her own terms without seeking forgiveness for her attire, regardless of the criticism from those who may watch item songs or seek out adult content.
