Islamabad: Renowned Pakistani actress and model Kiran Malik has sharply criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for taking credit for the success of javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal at the Olympics.
In the javelin throw event held in Paris, France, Arshad Nadeem set a new record with a throw of 92.97 meters, earning the gold medal and making the nation proud. However, a video of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrating the victory went viral on social media. In the video, Sharif’s advisor on youth affairs, Rana Mashhood, is seen attributing the success to the Prime Minister’s vision.
The video sparked widespread criticism from social media users and public figures, including Kiran Malik. In a social media post, Malik sarcastically questioned whether Sharif had provided any support or facilities for Nadeem’s training, emphasizing that Nadeem’s achievements were solely due to his own efforts.
Malik urged Mashhood to honor Nadeem for his achievements, arguing that Sharif and his government were more focused on enriching themselves than on supporting national sports talent.
