New Bench Formed to Hear PTI Founder and Bushra Bibi’s Tosha Khana Case
Islamabad :A new bench has been constituted to hear the petitions challenging the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Tosha Khana case.
The Islamabad High Court’s division bench, comprising Justices Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Arbab Muhammad Tahir, will hear the case today.
On July 25, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Samn Rifaat Imtiaz had previously heard the case. Imran Khan’s legal team had requested Chief Justice Farooq recuse himself from the case due to a petition filed against him with the Supreme Judicial Council. However, Chief Justice Farooq rejected the plea to step down from the bench due to the ongoing reference.
Following Justice Samn Rifaat Imtiaz’s vacation, the previous bench is no longer available to hear the case. As a result, the new division bench will proceed with the hearings.
