Nationwide Internet Outage Hits PTCL Users
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is currently experiencing a nationwide internet outage. According to Express News, the disruption has led to widespread inconvenience among the public, with many banks and government offices also facing closures.
Earlier, on July 26, the country’s new internet security network system was tested, resulting in not only a slowdown in internet speeds but also disruptions in social media applications.
Reports suggest that the slowdown is due to the firewall testing associated with the new security network. Officials have confirmed that this is the cause of the current internet issues.
The installation of the firewall system began in January 2024, and the testing phase is now underway.
