Nargis Fakhri Shares First Post After Sister’s Arrest in Murder Case, Indian Media Sees It as a Bid to Avoid Controversy
Islamabad:Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri has shared her first post on social media following the shocking arrest of her sister, Alia Fakhri, in a murder case. Indian media speculates that the post is an attempt by Nargis to distance herself from the ongoing controversy surrounding her sister’s arrest.
On her official Instagram story, Nargis posted a picture from her upcoming film *Housefull 5*, where she is seen posing with co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonam Bajwa. The three actresses appear to be in a cheerful mood, flashing bright smiles for the camera. The caption accompanying the image reads, “We are coming for you.”
This post comes amid the media frenzy over the arrest of Nargis Fakhri’s sister, Alia Fakhri, who was detained in New York’s Queens city on charges of murder. Alia is accused of the brutal killings of her ex-boyfriend, Edwards Jacobs, and his friend, Anastasia Aiden. She is currently being interrogated by the authorities.
While Nargis Fakhri has yet to make a detailed public statement on the matter, she has mentioned that she has not been in contact with her sister for the past 20 years. Like the rest of the public, Nargis claims that she learned of the incident through the media.
Alia Fakhri, Nargis’s elder sister, was born to a Pakistani-American father and a European mother. Both Nargis and Alia were raised and hold citizenship in the United States. Nargis, who moved to India in 2014 to pursue her acting career, has since made her mark in Bollywood with bold roles in several films.
Meanwhile, Nargis Fakhri is set to star in *Housefull 5*, which boasts a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Dino Morea, Johnny Lever, Jackie Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, and Chitrangda Singh. The film is slated for release on June 6, 2025.
