NADRA Blocks Over 71,000 Fake and Ineligible National Identity Cards in 5 Years

Quetta:NADRA has blocked 71,849 national identity cards of fake and ineligible individuals over the past five years. The Ministry of Interior presented the data on blocked identity cards in the National Assembly. According to the document, more than 44,000 identity cards have been restored, while investigations are still ongoing for over 13,000 cards.

The data reveals that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest number of blocked cards, with 25,981 cards blocked. In Punjab, 13,564 cards were blocked, while in Sindh, 9,677 cards were blocked. In Balochistan, 20,583 cards were blocked, and 1,370 cards were blocked in Islamabad. Additionally, 228 cards were blocked in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 446 cards were blocked in Azad Kashmir.

Moreover, 44,460 identity cards were unblocked after necessary verification, while 13,618 blocked cards are still under investigation.
