NAB Team Leaves Peshawar Empty-Handed After Failing to Arrest Bushra Bibi in £190 Million Case

Peshawar: A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team, dispatched to arrest Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in connection with a £190 million corruption case, left Peshawar empty-handed and returned to Rawalpindi.
The NAB authorities had formally requested cooperation from the Home Secretary in executing the arrest. However, despite their efforts, Bushra Bibi could not be apprehended.
It is noteworthy that Islamabad’s Accountability Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi due to her continuous absence from court hearings. She has failed to appear at the past four hearings of this case.
In this case, all witness testimonies have been recorded, and both accused, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, are required to give their statements under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code. However, neither has yet recorded their statements.
Once both accused testify, the final arguments will be presented by the parties involved, after which the court will announce its decision.
In this case, former adviser Shahzad Akbar, Zulfikar Bukhari, and the heads of a private housing society, Malik Riaz and his son, have been declared absconders.
