Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has declared its intent to challenge the Supreme Court’s decision regarding special seats. Speaking at a press conference in Rawalpindi, party leader Hanif Abbasi criticized the decision, alleging favoritism towards the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and questioning the judicial timing.
He emphasized that 39 PML-N members being designated as PTI candidates was an unlawful decision, announcing plans to file a plea for review against the Supreme Court’s ruling.
Abbasi accused the court of overstepping constitutional boundaries and hinted at legal protests and political mobilization in response to what he described as judicial overreach. He also drew comparisons to previous instances of political convenience, recalling similar controversies in Pakistan’s recent political history.
