Islamabad:The body of renowned mountaineer Morad Sadpara, who tragically passed away due to a head injury sustained while descending from Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan, has been transferred to Skardu. His remains will be transported from CMH (Combined Military Hospital) to Sadpara Village for burial in his hometown.
Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kiani expressed deep sorrow over Sadpara’s death, revealing that he was struck by a falling rock during his descent from Broad Peak, which proved fatal. Kiani highlighted Sadpara’s remarkable contributions to mountaineering, including his role in rescuing individuals and bringing down the body of Hassan Shigri from K2’s treacherous routes.
Kiani also criticized the lack of timely rescue facilities, particularly the absence of private helicopters for emergency evacuations, which she believes contributed to Sadpara’s untimely death.
In response, the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, expressed profound condolences over Sadpara’s death. He praised Sadpara’s significant contributions to mountaineering and offered prayers for his soul and patience for his family.
