Mohammad Rizwan Reflects on Pakistan’s Defeat Against New Zealand, Emphasizes Missed Opportunities

After Pakistan’s loss to New Zealand in the second One Day International (ODI) match, Mohammad Rizwan admitted that while the conditions in New Zealand were challenging, Pakistan had failed to capitalize on crucial moments in the game.

In his post-match comments, Rizwan acknowledged that Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah had shown strong batting performances, but he described the team’s overall performance as disappointing. He noted that Pakistan’s bowlers struggled to swing the ball, while New Zealand’s bowlers performed admirably.

Rizwan emphasized that despite the challenging conditions, this was no excuse for the team’s lackluster showing. He said, “We did not perform well in the first 10 overs, both in bowling and batting,” reflecting on the key moments that Pakistan failed to exploit.

Following their 84-run defeat, New Zealand has taken a decisive lead in the three-match ODI series, with Pakistan now facing a must-win scenario in the third and final match, scheduled for April 5.
