Maryam Nawaz Criticizes PTI’s Agenda and Accuses KP Government of Internal Attacks
Islamabad:In a strong statement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz criticized the political agenda of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), calling it dangerous and incomprehensible. She pointed out contradictions in PTI’s stance, noting that while the party previously claimed to reject American influence, it has now been seen waving U.S. flags at rallies. Maryam Nawaz also expressed concern over PTI’s recent attacks on a friendly nation, highlighting that internal and external assaults on Pakistan are escalating.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Kachi Canal Restoration Project, Maryam Nawaz addressed the growing political instability and security challenges faced by the country. She recalled watching a disturbing video in which a Pakistani woman publicly attacked a friendly country that has always supported Pakistan in difficult times. “This country has been a reliable friend and benefactor of Pakistan, and I refuse to believe that Bushra Bibi [Imran Khan’s wife] was unaware of the consequences of her statements,” she said.
Maryam Nawaz did not mince words when addressing the issue of attacks on Pakistan. She asserted that the real threat to Pakistan comes not from external forces or terrorist groups, but from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, which she claimed is preparing for further confrontations with the federal government and Punjab. “Whenever Pakistan begins to make progress, protests and sit-ins are staged to derail development,” she said, pointing to PTI’s political tactics.
On a more positive note, Maryam Nawaz expressed her satisfaction over the completion of the Kachi Canal project, a long-awaited initiative aimed at irrigating land in Balochistan. She praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the successful execution of the project, which she said had been launched during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure but completed under Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. She highlighted the importance of this project for the agricultural development of Balochistan.
The Punjab Chief Minister also spoke about the recent positive economic developments in Pakistan, citing the consistent good news coming out of the country after a long time. She said that Pakistan’s economy is on the path to recovery, with the stock market breaking records, contrary to the predictions of those who had hoped for Pakistan to default. Maryam Nawaz praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his leadership, stating that under his guidance, the country is moving forward towards progress and prosperity.
