Maryam Nawaz Criticizes Government for Constitutional Amendments Favoring Criminal and Failed Groups
Islamabad:Addressing a gathering at the Town Shop Model Bazaar upgrade ceremony in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz voiced concerns over what she described as constitutional amendments favoring criminals and failed groups. She appealed to the judges of the Supreme Court to uphold the integrity of the nation.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized her administration’s commitment to enhancing public convenience by establishing model bazaars in cities lacking such facilities, citing allocated land across all districts of Punjab for this purpose. She expressed satisfaction with the public’s response to the Town Shop Model Bazaar, stating, “People are very happy with the convenience.”
Speaking about Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Nawaz commended her efforts in environmental improvement initiatives. She noted the absence of shopping bags among shoppers, who instead carried cloth bags, and expressed happiness at the availability of wheelchairs for disabled individuals.
On national stability, the Punjab Chief Minister pledged the government’s dedication to combating attempts to destabilize the country, asserting, “We will address any attempts to create instability with firm hands. The government will complete its five-year term.”
Nawaz concluded by criticizing recent constitutional amendments aimed at granting favors to criminal elements and failed groups, stating, “Pakistan does not appear to be progressing positively, which is why constitutional amendments are being questioned.”
