KP Chief Minister’s Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants Issued in Liquor Case
Islamabad: Civil Judge Shaista Khan Kundi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a liquor case. The decision came during a hearing at the District and Sessions Courts, where the judge was addressing a case involving the seizure of weapons and liquor against Gandapur.
The court rejected Gandapur’s request for exemption from attendance on medical grounds and ordered the SHO of Bara Kahu Police Station to arrest and present Gandapur by tomorrow.
In a separate development, the Anti-Terrorism Court has adjourned the hearing on Gandapur’s pre-arrest bail application until September 10. The court, presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, was informed by Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zohair-ul-Hassan, that the Chief Minister is currently unwell. The medical certificate submitted indicated that Gandapur is suffering from leg pain and has been advised a week’s rest. Gandapur was reportedly visiting flood-affected areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when he slipped and injured his leg.
The Anti-Terrorism Court has rescheduled the hearing to September 21.
