Islamabad:Indian cricketer KL Rahul has shared a heartfelt revelation about the support he received from Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, during his challenging debut in international cricket.
Rahul made his Test debut in 2014 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but it was a disappointing start as he was dismissed for a duck. According to reports, it was Anushka Sharma who stood by him during this difficult time.
KL Rahul recounted that Anushka and Virat, who are close friends of his, played a crucial role in helping him through his tough phase. He mentioned that having a poor start can be disheartening and can affect one’s morale significantly.
Rahul shared that Anushka happened to be at the Melbourne match and, upon seeing him disheartened after his dismissal, she came to his room. She assured him that she would not leave him alone to dwell on his performance and would help him move past it. Anushka also proposed to take him out for dinner or a sight-seeing trip with Virat.
In addition, Rahul noted that Virat Kohli provided valuable advice, explaining that failure is part of the journey and that he was not the first person to experience such setbacks. Virat’s encouragement helped Rahul understand that these challenges are part of life’s learning experience.
Rahul further revealed that he had accompanied Anushka and Virat on several outings, during which they shared their own love story and experiences of how their relationship developed.
