Karachi Water Supply Restored After Power Resumption at Pipri Pumping Station

Karachi Water Corporation has resumed water supply to the city following the restoration of electricity at the Pipri Pumping Station.

A spokesperson for the Water Corporation issued a statement explaining that a major power breakdown occurred at the Pipri Pumping Station at 3:35 PM, causing the complete shutdown of all pumps at the facility.

However, power was restored at 7:35 PM, and water supply to the city resumed shortly after. The spokesperson mentioned that due to the power outage, the city faced a shortage of 35 million gallons per day (MGD), which affected areas such as Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim, and DHA.

K-Electric’s spokesperson added that their team promptly responded to the partial disruption at the Pipri station. The fault occurred in the evening, but it was quickly addressed after Iftar, and power was fully restored.
