Joint Action Committee Ends Sit-in at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, Quetta

Quetta:The Joint Action Committee at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University has decided to conclude their sit-in after several days. The committee had initiated the protest in response to allegations of harassment and coercion towards female employees by Vice Chancellor Dr. Sajida Noreen.

On Thursday, committee members visited the Balochistan Assembly and met with opposition leader Rahmat Saleh Baloch, along with other members including Asghar Tareen, Zahid Reki, Ghulam Dastagir Badini, Khair Jan Baloch, and Dr. Nawaz Kibzai. They discussed the ongoing issues facing university staff, prompting immediate meetings with the Balochistan Governor for resolution.

Following these discussions, a delegation from the committee visited Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, where they listened to the grievances of the employees. They assured the staff of their commitment to resolve all issues promptly, acknowledging assurances from both their side and the Governor of Balochistan.

The committee members expressed gratitude to the assembly members and reiterated their pledge to continue advocating for prioritized resolutions to university issues in the future.
