Javeria Saud Defends Maulana Azad Jameel’s Electricity Bill Remedy, Sparks Social Media Debate

Actress and TV host Javeria Saud has come under fire after defending a supposed remedy for reducing electricity bills, suggested by Maulana Azad Jameel. A video of her defense has gone viral on social media, with mixed reactions from users.
In the video, Javeria Saud expressed hope that the practice of writing “Zam Zam” on electricity meters could indeed reduce bills. She mentioned, “I wish it worked that simply, but if people do it with belief, it could work.” Saud further stated that Maulana Azad Jameel must have shared the remedy after careful thought, adding that she personally believes that “prayers can make anything possible.” Smiling, she said, “Try writing it, maybe the electricity bill will not come at all.”
The video sparked a strong reaction from social media users, many of whom criticized Javeria for defending the statement. Some accused her of using the video for cheap publicity, while others questioned how she could endorse such claims.
The controversy stems from an incident a few days ago during a Ramadan transmission when a viewer asked for a remedy to reduce their electricity bill. In response, Maulana Azad Jameel recommended writing “Zam Zam” with the index finger on the electricity meter as a way to lower the bill. He suggested repeating the remedy twice a month, once every 15 days, for a month.
This advice quickly went viral, but it also drew widespread criticism. Users called the remedy “fake” and “implausible,” with many questioning whether Javeria Saud and Maulana Azad Jameel practiced this remedy themselves or were simply using the public as a means of spreading unrealistic claims. Many people wondered if the public was being misled for the sake of attention or gimmicks.
As the debate continues, questions remain about the credibility of such remedies, and whether they serve any genuine purpose or are merely attention-seeking tactics.
