Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Condemns Restrictions on Freedom of Expression and Assembly in Gwadar
Quetta:Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch, Deputy Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan, criticized the imposition of restrictions on freedom of expression, rights advocacy, and public gatherings in Balochistan. He stated that in Balochistan, instead of basic amenities such as water, education, and healthcare, the people are only demanding elusive promises. He drew parallels with Islamabad, where large roads and cities’ entrances are blocked with containers, imposing curfews on the populace.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch expressed that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam aims to break the silence and protest against the loot and plunder of resources meant for the public. He assured that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will strive to secure the right to life and basic human rights for the people of Balochistan. These sentiments were voiced during his address at a gathering in Lyaqat Bagh, where he strongly criticized the government and authorities for exploiting the poor and needy instead of providing relief.
