Quetta:Hafiz Noor Ali, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, announced that a significant protest against rising electricity bills, prices, taxes, inflation, and IPP (Independent Power Producers) exploitation will be held in Quetta as soon as the central Amir, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, issues the call. He urged party members and officials to prepare immediately for the protest, focusing on mobilizing people, organizing logistics, and managing finances.
In his speech addressing various zonal meetings regarding the protest preparations, Hafiz Noor Ali criticized the ruling authorities for failing to address the issues of the Balochistan public, including the recovery of missing persons, insecurity, inflation, and unemployment. He lamented that governments in Balochistan are often imposed by powerful forces and federal directives, rather than being responsive to the needs of the people.
Hafiz Noor Ali highlighted the dire water shortages in Quetta and the failures of tanker mafias, petrol mafias, and those inflating the prices of essential goods. He called on the people of Quetta to unite with Jamaat-e-Islami to combat these issues. According to him, Jamaat-e-Islami is the only party actively addressing public grievances related to price hikes, taxes, and inflation, unlike other parties which are entangled in power struggles, case dismissals, and election politics.
He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest is driven solely by the aim to provide relief to the public and challenge the exploitation by IPPs. Hafiz Noor Ali urged district amirs and responsible officials to start preparations for the protest, assuring that the movement will commence immediately upon receiving the call from Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.
He concluded by stating that Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to fighting for public issues is sincere and that the party is focused on delivering relief rather than engaging in power politics. He appealed to the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami’s efforts to ensure that the corrupt practices are exposed and the people are uplifted.
