Islamabad Police File Case Against PTI Chairman and Over 20 Lawyers for Protest Outside Supreme Court

Islamabad:The Islamabad police have registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar and more than 20 lawyers for protesting outside the Supreme Court and burning an effigy of the head of a government agency.

The case was filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other serious charges at the Secretariat police station by the Station House Officer (SHO). Among those named in the FIR are Members of the National Assembly Latif Khosa, Senator Shibli Faraz, Salman Akram Raja, Mustafain Kazmi, Niazullah Niazi, and Azam Swati.

Also named in the case are lawyers Naseem Haider Panchutha, Ansar Advocate, and Abdullah Wazir. Notably, over 100 unidentified individuals have also been included in the complaint. Lawyer Mustafain Kazmi is already in custody.

### FIR Details

The FIR states that protesters burned an effigy of the head of the government agency and resisted police officers, threatening them with severe consequences. The text of the FIR further claims that the protesters stated they would not allow the agency’s head to make decisions or carry out their duties, blocking roads by burning tires during the demonstration.

This incident highlights the increasing tensions surrounding political protests in the country, as legal actions are taken against participants involved in such activities.
