Imran Khan Boycotts 190 Million Pound Case Hearing, Media Absence Cited as Reason
Islamabad:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has decided to boycott the hearing of the 190 million pound case, citing the absence of media coverage as his primary reason. The hearing was scheduled to take place in Adiala Jail before the accountability court judge, but Imran Khan refused to participate, expressing his dissatisfaction with the lack of media presence and the small size of the courtroom.
During the hearing, the statements of Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, under section 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code were also not recorded. In response to the circumstances, Imran Khan announced that he would boycott the hearing, stating, “The room is too small, and other people are not here. Therefore, I will not participate in the proceedings.”
Following his boycott, the court adjourned the hearing without any action and rescheduled it for December 6. Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi failed to appear in court again, prompting the judge to maintain the non-bailable arrest warrants for her.
In addition, the hearing of the Toshakhana Case 2 also took place today. In this case, Rawalpindi Central Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand issued arrest warrants for Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, in relation to the Toshakhana scandal. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had also issued a notice to Bushra Bibi, asking her to respond next week regarding the FIA’s request to cancel her bail in the Toshakhana Case 2.
This development highlights the ongoing legal challenges faced by both Imran Khan and his wife, with multiple cases currently under scrutiny.
