Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns Arrest of Doctors, Demands Immediate Release

Quetta:The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNA) has condemned the arrest of Grand Health Alliance Chairman Dr. Bahar Shah and Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, demanding the government immediately accept all the alliance’s demands and release the detained doctors.
In a press release from the party’s provincial secretariat, it was stated that the current government under Form 47 has proven to be disastrous in every respect. The health, education, and all other sectors have collapsed, while the public faces severe challenges in terms of security and protection of life and property. Instead of addressing the legitimate demands of doctors and paramedics, the government is arresting them, indicating its disregard for the health sector.
The statement emphasized that doctors, who are considered healers, are treating the sick, yet the government is imprisoning them, which is an act of hostility towards the public. The party called for the immediate withdrawal of the FIR and the release of the doctors, urging the government to meet their demands without further delay.
Additionally, the party criticized the government’s policy of operating public hospitals under a public-private partnership model, describing it as an exploitation of the poor, which is unacceptable. It noted that all political parties in the province have rejected these recommendations, and it is the government’s responsibility to make public hospitals functional and provide free healthcare services to the impoverished population.
