Islamabad:The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed fines on India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and Australia’s top-order batsman Travis Head for breaching the code of conduct during the second Test between Australia and India in the Border-Gavaskar series.
The fines were imposed following an incident during the match where both players exchanged heated words on the field. Mohammad Siraj was charged under **ICC Code of Conduct** clause 2.5 for using inappropriate language, gestures, or actions, and was fined **20% of his match fee**. This clause deals with conduct related to inappropriate language or behavior on the field.
Travis Head, on the other hand, was penalized for breaching **Article 2.13** of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to misconduct towards players, support staff, umpires, or match referees during an international match. Both players were also given **one demerit point** each on their disciplinary records, marking their first offense in the last 24 months.
Both Siraj and Head acknowledged their respective offenses and accepted the sanctions recommended by ICC Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle.
