Governor of Balochistan, Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Vows to Elevate Women’s University to National Standards

Quetta: Governor of Balochistan, Jamal Khan Mandokhel, stated that bringing the Women’s University to par with the top universities of the country is a top priority for the provincial government. He emphasized that they are implementing strong measures to enhance quality across all domains and aim to increase student enrollment back to 12,000. His vision is to establish a modern, research-based, and secure institution that attracts female students from across other provinces.
Speaking at the 11th Academic Convocation of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University on Thursday, Mandokhel emphasized the role of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, and her team in developing the university into a world-class institution while keeping its integrity free from any political or personal agendas.
The convocation ceremony also witnessed the awarding of PhD, MPhil, and graduate certificates to 472 students, with 34 students receiving gold medals for outstanding performance. In his address, Mandokhel congratulated all the graduates, urging them to begin the second phase of their academic journey, which requires them to demonstrate the values and principles they have learned. He pointed out that the true essence of education lies not only in the acquisition of knowledge but also in the development of character and wisdom.
The Governor further acknowledged the tireless efforts of the faculty members and teaching staff, who played a crucial role in shaping the minds and characters of the graduates. He noted that the university has proven that investment in education is key to development and progress.
Concluding his speech with a quote from the great poet Rumi, Mandokhel said, “Hope is eternal, and faith is infinite,” leaving the graduates with words of inspiration. The ceremony ended with the Vice-Chancellor of the Women’s University, Professor Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, presenting a souvenir to the Governor in appreciation.
