Governor Balochistan Urges Immediate Establishment of Modern Sports Complexes Across the Province

Quetta: Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhail, emphasized the need for the government to take immediate and concrete steps to establish modern sports complexes at the district level. He stated that sports are not just a game but a vital tool for leading a disciplined life and fostering vitality. Balochistan has an abundance of talented athletes, players, and even sports enthusiasts; however, due to the lack of proper fields and necessary facilities, they are forced to play in streets and alleyways. In such a scenario, he questioned how the youth could be expected to perform excellently in sports.

These remarks were made by the Governor during his presidency at the annual meeting of the Sports Board. The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Sports, Mina Maajid, Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Tariq Qamar, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan, Hashim Khan Ghlazai, DG Sports, Yasir Bazai, Ata Muhammad Kakar, and Hayatullah Khan Durani.

Governor Mandokhail stressed that every talent requires opportunity. When athletes do not have access to basic facilities and training opportunities, even the best players can go to waste. He further pointed out that sports have the power to transform passion into discipline and foster patience, encouragement, and skill enhancement among the youth.

He highlighted that every athlete is essentially an ambassador of their province and country, representing them at national and international levels. Providing these athletes with the necessary facilities is the government’s responsibility, he asserted.

Additionally, he mentioned that sports teach discipline, hard work, and teamwork, serving as a productive way to engage youth and protect them from social evils.
