Federal Government to Challenge Full Court Order in Bench Formation Case

Islamabad:The federal government has decided to challenge the order for the formation of a full court issued by a two-judge bench, including Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, in the bench formation case.
According to Geo News, the federal government intends to contest the order given by the bench, which also included Justice Aqeel Abbasi. The two-judge bench had directed the formation of a full court in the case related to bench appointments.
Attorney General has informed the constitutional bench about the federal government’s decision and emphasized that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah exercised suo-motu powers, which he argues was beyond his authority.
Attorney General Mansoor Awan stated that the decision was unconstitutional, and as a result, the federal government will challenge the ruling.
It is important to note that the two-judge bench, led by Justice Mansoor and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, had ruled that the Judicial Orders issued by the Practice and Procedure Committee and the Judges’ Constitutional Committee were ignored, directing Chief Justice Pakistan to form a full court for the matter.
