KARACHI: A father has strangled his own 24-day-old daughter to death near Ghousia Mosque No. 7 in the Liaquatabad area after cutting her throat mercilessly.Â
According to rescue sources, the father thrashed his own 24-day-old daughter’s throat. It may be recalled that last week, a 7-day-old girl was shot dead by her father named Shahzeb in Mianwali with three bullets.
The baby named Jannat was shot multiple times by her father because his first child was a daughter instead of a son. The father killed the infant by opening fire on her five times and fled from the scene.Â
A first information report (FIR) of the incident was filed by the childâs maternal grandfather. The mother is still in hospital in critical condition while the accused has been arrested.
