Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has stated that certain drama-mongers in politics are attempting unsuccessful maneuvers following the Bannu incident. In a statement, he mentioned that rejected political actors are using the Bannu incident to their advantage but the public is aware of their negative intentions. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is closely monitoring the situation in Bannu, having prioritized the prevention of any major untoward incident. Immediately after the incident, the Chief Minister diverted all engagements to focus on matters in Bannu.
Barrister Dr. Saif further remarked that maintaining peace and preventing any major unpleasant incident in Bannu remains the provincial government’s top priority. Local administration is constantly briefing the Chief Minister, with negotiations underway involving local authorities and social leaders. The commencement of negotiations has already contributed to restoring peace in Bannu.
He added that the committee comprising social leaders and administration will ensure sustainable peace in the region, with an imminent meeting expected with the Chief Minister. On the directives of the Chief Minister, a commission will soon compile an inquiry report regarding the incident.
Barrister Dr. Saif emphasized that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is particularly affected by terrorism and cannot afford any major incidents. Protection of life and property of the people remains a top priority for the provincial government. He urged the public to cooperate with the provincial government and local administration in efforts to eradicate extremism.
