Donald Trump Named ‘Person of the Year’ by Time Magazine for 2024

Islamabad:Time Magazine** has named **Donald Trump** as the *Person of the Year 2024* for his profound impact on **American politics** and the **country’s role in the world**. The announcement was made on Thursday, with the magazine’s **Editor-in-Chief, Sam Jacobs**, highlighting Trump’s historical influence on political change, reshaping the presidency, and altering America’s global standing.

In a letter to the magazine’s readers, Jacobs noted that Trump’s ability to bring about **political change within a generation**, his transformation of the **American presidency**, and his impact on the **global role of the U.S.** earned him the prestigious recognition. Trump had previously been named *Person of the Year* in **2016** after his victory in the presidential elections.

In 2020, after his defeat, the title was awarded to **Democratic President Joe Biden** and **Vice President Kamala Harris**. Last year, **pop star Taylor Swift** took the honor.

Meanwhile, in an interview with *Time Magazine* published on Thursday, **Donald Trump** made strong statements regarding his stance on illegal immigration. He revealed that he would be prepared to use **military force** to deport illegal immigrants from the country. Trump emphasized that he would only take actions within the boundaries of the law, but would go as far as the law permits.

When asked if he would reinstate a policy of separating immigrant children from their parents, as was done during his previous term, Trump responded, “I don’t think we’ll need to do that because we will send the whole family back.”
