CBI Closes Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death Case, No Foul Play Found

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted its final reports in two cases related to the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The reports, presented to a Mumbai court, state that there is no evidence of foul play behind his death.

The investigation began in August 2020 after Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, filed an FIR in Patna, accusing actress Rhea Chakraborty and others of abetment to suicide, financial fraud, and mental harassment. In response, Rhea Chakraborty filed a counter-complaint in Mumbai, alleging that Sushant’s sisters had forged medical prescriptions for him.

After years of investigation, the CBI has now closed both cases, confirming that no criminal conspiracy or wrongdoing was uncovered that could have led to Sushant Singh’s death.

Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, expressed gratitude to the CBI for thoroughly investigating the case from all angles and concluding it. He also criticized the false narratives circulating in the media and how they led to innocent people being subjected to public and investigative scrutiny.

Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested and spent 27 days in jail, was later granted bail by Justice Sarang V. Kotwal. Her lawyer emphasized that Rhea had suffered immensely due to baseless accusations.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020, which sparked widespread controversy. The initial post-mortem report indicated suffocation as the cause of death. The case was transferred to the CBI, which conducted an extensive investigation.

K.K. Singh, Sushant’s father, has long maintained that his son’s death could not have been a suicide. He expressed disappointment with the CBI’s investigation, claiming the agency did not act in a timely manner, but he remains hopeful that the court will deliver justice.

K.K. Singh also acknowledged media reports suggesting a connection between the case and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray but stated that the truth will ultimately be determined in court. He reiterated his belief that Sushant Singh did not die by suicide and that the truth will soon come to light.
