Car Sales in Pakistan See 65% Increase in January 2025: PAMA Report

According to the latest statistics released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), vehicle sales in Pakistan surged by 65% in January 2025.
The total sales of cars, sports utility vehicles (SUVs), vans, and other vehicles reached 17,000 units in January, marking a significant growth in the automotive industry. When compared to January 2024, the sales in January 2025 saw an increase of 61% in the auto sector.
In the first seven months of 2025, car sales exceeded 78,000 units, reflecting a 56% growth.
**Detailed Sales Breakdown:**
– The sale of passenger cars increased by 51%, rising from 7,864 units in December 2024 to 11,868 units in January 2025.
– The sale of cars above 1300cc witnessed a remarkable 85% increase, reaching 5,518 units.
– Vehicles under 1000cc saw a 63% rise in sales, with 5,633 units sold, while sales of 1000cc cars grew by 30%.
In the commercial vehicle market, truck sales skyrocketed by 344%, although bus sales dropped by 61%.
**Motorcycle Sales Surge:**
Motorcycle sales also experienced significant growth, reaching 132,947 units.
**Growth in Vehicle Sales for FY 2024-25:**
For the first six months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, overall vehicle sales increased by 51.32% compared to the same period last year. During this period, 46,398 vehicles were sold, up from 30,662 units in the same months of the previous year.
**Brand-Specific Sales Growth:**
– Sales of Honda Civic and City models reached 6,404 units from July to December 2024-25, compared to 3,938 units during the same period in 2023-24.
– Toyota Corolla and Yaris sales increased by 82.47%, reaching 9,633 units compared to 5,279 units in the previous year.
