Canada to Increase Temporary Resident Application Fees Starting December 1st
Canada’s immigration authorities have decided to increase the fees for temporary resident applications, which will come into effect on December 1st. This change will impact individuals wishing to visit Canada, extend their stay, or apply for temporary resident status, including tourists, students, and workers.
The new higher application and processing fees will apply to various types of temporary resident requests, including those seeking to restore their temporary resident status or obtain re-entry approval to Canada. This means that applicants will have to pay higher fees than before.
Currently, the specific details of the revised fees have not been announced by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Applicants are advised to be prepared for these increases and ensure that the correct fee is paid when submitting their applications. Any delays in fee payment could result in delays in processing.
For online applications, payment is made immediately upon submission. Applicants are encouraged to verify that they have paid the correct fee before finalizing their submission to avoid delays. For applications sent by email, there may be a delay between the time the application is sent and when the IRCC receives it.
