Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan Faces Backlash from Hindu Woman Over Silence on Political Issues

Mumbai:On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared a heartfelt message for his fans, wishing them happiness and safety. He wrote on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), “Eid Mubarak, I am grateful in my heart and praying for everyone.” His message continued with, “I hope your day is filled with hugs, biryani, warmth, and endless love. Stay happy, stay safe, and may Allah keep you all happy.”

While many fans appreciated the message, one user, Radhika Burman, took to social media to criticize the superstar for his perceived silence on political matters. Responding to Shah Rukh Khan’s Eid post, Radhika pointed out the ongoing struggles of the Muslim community under the current government, with specific reference to the policies of the ruling BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In her post, Radhika stated, “All of that is fine, but your community is dying at the hands of this government which you are supporting.” She accused Shah Rukh Khan of not speaking out against the government’s actions, particularly those that affect Muslims in India. Radhika went on to assert, “Silence is not okay, say something! You should raise your voice, not just for Muslims, but as a citizen. What the government is doing is wrong. Your silence won’t protect you.”

This criticism highlights the ongoing tensions and political debates in India surrounding the treatment of Muslims, and how public figures like Shah Rukh Khan are expected to take a stand on such matters. The superstar, known for his inclusive messaging and philanthropic work, has yet to respond to the criticism.
