Islamabad:Bollywood superstar Govinda, whose full name is Arjun Ahuja, was accidentally shot at his residence when a bullet from his own licensed revolver struck him, leading to his hospitalization.
According to a report from the Times of India, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning around 5 AM when the 60-year-old actor was alone at his home in Juhu. His manager, Shashi Sinha, provided an initial statement explaining that they had a show scheduled in Kolkata and were set to leave on a 6 AM flight. While preparing to leave, Govinda accidentally discharged his weapon, resulting in a bullet wound to his leg.
Sinha clarified that the revolver fell from a shelf in the wardrobe and discharged accidentally. He expressed relief that the injury was not severe, stating, “It’s a miracle that Govinda Ji only sustained an injury to one leg and his wound is not life-threatening.”
After undergoing a minor operation at the hospital, the bullet was successfully removed from Govinda’s leg.
It’s worth noting that Govinda was immensely popular as a comedy hero during the 1990s and remains a beloved figure in Indian cinema.
