Bangladesh’s Interim Leader Mohammad Yunus Meets Indian PM Narendra Modi in Thailand

Bangkok:Bangladesh’s interim leader, Mohammad Yunus, held a significant meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thailand today, marking their first interaction since the fall of Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s government in Bangladesh.

According to foreign news agencies, during the meeting, Mohammad Yunus raised the issue of the extradition of Sheikh Hasina Wajid, who has fled Bangladesh. Yunus accused Hasina of making wrongful and inflammatory statements against the interim government and urged Modi to prevent her from making such statements.

A press statement from Mohammad Yunus’ office revealed that Prime Minister Modi denied supporting any particular political party in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, India’s Foreign Secretary stated that the two leaders discussed the request for the extradition of Sheikh Hasina Wajid. Modi emphasized India’s support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, inclusive, and constructive Bangladesh.

The meeting between the two leaders took place on the sidelines of a regional summit in Thailand, with both parties discussing important bilateral and regional issues.
