Balochistan Solidarity Committee Organiser Claims Siege of Gwadar, Urges International Intervention

Quetta:In a recent video message, Mah Rang Baloch, the organiser of the Balochistan Solidarity Committee, reported that Gwadar has been under siege for the past four days. The Balochistan Solidarity Committee had planned a protest, named Raji Mchi, on July 28 to highlight the issues of Baloch genocide and human rights violations. Participants from across Balochistan were converging on Gwadar to register their protest.

Instead of facilitating the participants’ arrival, the state used force to disperse them. Since then, there have been no reports coming from Gwadar. Security forces have tightened their grip on highways, resulting in several deaths and injuries. Over 500 individuals are currently in custody, with a significant number of women among the detained. Detailed information on the number of detainees and the injured is still unavailable.

Protests and sit-ins are also occurring in various locations across Balochistan, where the government is reportedly using force to suppress dissent, leading to further detentions and reports of violence.

Mah Rang Baloch criticized the state, government, and other institutions for facilitating the crackdown against the Baloch people and depriving them of their right to peaceful protest. She called on international organizations and media to raise awareness about the atrocities in Balochistan and urged international human rights organizations to intervene immediately to prevent further loss of innocent lives.

The Balochistan Solidarity Committee vows to continue their protest and sit-ins until all detained individuals are released. Mah Rang Baloch emphasized that the protests will persist as long as the government attempts to disperse them, and she appealed to people across Balochistan to keep up their protests.
