Speaker National Assembly Contacts PTI’s Asad Qaiser in Effort to Save Negotiations

Islamabad:In an attempt to salvage the ongoing negotiations, Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, reached out to PTI leader Asad Qaiser via telephone. Speaker Sadiq made another effort to bring the parties back to the table by inviting Qaiser to attend the upcoming session of the negotiating committee. However, PTI has not provided any firm assurance regarding its participation in the talks.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had informed the Speaker that the party would not participate in the negotiations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui stated that if PTI does not participate in today’s meeting, the Speaker would dissolve the committee, and the government would respond to any actions PTI takes outside the negotiations.

It is worth noting that PTI has officially announced the termination of negotiations with the government and has informed the Speaker’s secretary about its decision.
